Andy Hopwood is one of the UK’s leading combat and fitness experts, with an established list of celebrity clients – from premier league footballers and motor racing champions to famous soap actors.

Andy has been involved in martial arts and fitness for over 35 years and has twice been inducted into the prestigious ‘Combat Hall of Fame‘.

He has extensive military experience including several years as a Special Forces instructor.

In 1995 Andy founded the highly acclaimed martial arts system, now known as the HOPWOOD Free Fighting Academy™.

Andy wrote his memoirs of his time in the Special Forces. His autobiographical novel ‘It’s Only Pain’ has had rave reviews here in the UK and overseas.

Sharon Hopwood has always been involved in competitive sport, but it was only whilst working for the Armed Forces in West Germany, that she found her true vocation as a fitness instructor. Upon returning to the UK, Sharon set up her own fitness business and has never looked back.

An award winning, fun, confident expert with endless credentials, which includes over 20 years fitness industry experience, teaching both children and adults, at some of the UK’s most prestigious health clubs.

Sharon has been a personal safety and combat instructor since 2002, and is widely recognised as being the UK’s leading female in this field. A highly experienced 3rd Dan Black Belt within the British Free Fighting Academy™, Sharon executes her role as the Academy’s Safeguarding Officer with quiet efficiency, ensuring a welcome and safe environment for children and adults alike.

A self confessed ‘foodie’, a strict vegetarian for over a decade and a qualified holistic sports nutritionist, Sharon offers 1-1 diet and nutrition advice to help you to get the best out of your chosen sport.
