The HOPWOOD Stay Safe System course is recognised as being the elite personal safety courses available to the general public and has been taught in classes, private sessions, schools and colleges across the UK since 2000.
This pro-active and fun course teaches about the power of body language, the importance of resolving conflict quickly and efficiently.
The training modules also addresses the school curriculum requirements under PSHE and Citizenship as well as covering key aspects of the five outcomes of the Every Child Matters Agenda.

The HOPWOOD Stay Safe System is designed to empower adults and children to help them to recognise and deal with a potentially violent or uncomfortable situation, before it escalates. The course is pro-active and covers the following topics:
BODY LANGUAGE - Posture adjustment – Eye Contact – Voice Intonation
Personal Space – Danger Signals
KEEP AWAY TECHNIQUES – staying out of harm’s way
PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKING TECHNIQUES – if you cannot avoid violent conflict
then we show you how to strike out smartly and get back to safety
BASIC BLOCK / COUNTER TECHNIQUES – how to defend against an
aggressor who is trying to hit you
BREAKAWAY TECHNIQUES – how to get away from an assailant’s grab or hold
GROUND DEFENCE – how to defend yourself if an attacker pins you to the floor
MULTIPLE ATTACKERS – how to get away if there is more than one aggressor
